About the Case Converter

The code-style cases (camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, CONSTANT_CASE, kebab-case, dot.case) first split the input into words. Spaces, punctuation and existing separators are boundaries, and so are case changes, so userAccountId, user_account_id and User Account ID all give the same words. Runs of capitals are treated as acronyms: HTTPResponseCode splits into http response code.

With Remove accents in code cases, diacritics are stripped so identifiers stay ASCII: Danh sách đơn hàng becomes danhSachDonHang (including the Vietnamese đ). Title Case, Sentence case, lowercase, UPPERCASE, aLtErNaTiNg and iNVERSE keep the original characters and punctuation.

Title Case capitalises every word; it does not apply style-guide rules (AP, Chicago) that keep short words like “of” lowercase. Sentence case lowercases everything and capitalises the first letter of each sentence, so proper nouns need fixing by hand. With Convert each line separately, a list of names is converted line by line.

Digits stay attached to the preceding word: version2Api becomes version2_api.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste text, one item per line.
  2. Choose per-line conversion and accent removal.
  3. Click Copy next to the case you need.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?
camelCase starts with a lowercase letter (getUserName) and is used for variables and functions in JavaScript and Java. PascalCase capitalises every word (GetUserName) and is used for classes and types.
When should I use kebab-case vs snake_case?
kebab-case is common for URLs, CSS classes and file names. snake_case is the convention for Python variables and many database columns; CONSTANT_CASE for constants and environment variables.
How are acronyms handled?
Consecutive capitals are treated as one word, so XMLHttpRequest becomes xml_http_request and xmlHttpRequest.
